We started off with a 67
Chevy C-10 dash we got off Craigslist for $100. It had a few
holes in it from switches etc but the stock openings were all
still intact which was the most important thing. Once the stock
dash was all cut out we left a small lip along the bottom of the
windshield so we had a place for the new dash to sit on. Once we
got the dash in place where we wanted it we started cutting
sheet metal to be added to the sides and back lip of the dash.
Once this was welded it was primed using products from
Duplicolor we started
fitting the dash for it's new components from
LMC Trucks.
The dash was from a Non AC truck so we had to cut in the vent
holes for all of our new vents that came from
LMC Trucks. We reenforced
the ashtray and heater controls location for our new pieces from LMC Trucks. We then welded
up all of the unused holes on the dash as well as the lower lip
and smoothed them out with fillers from
SEM Products and
sanded it smooth so it could be textured with the
SEM Texturespray.
